About this experience

Pedal through one of Sri Lanka's greatest archaeological treasures on this private 2.5-hour cycling tour of Polonnaruwa. Your experienced guide leads you along the entire route past the crumbling palaces, dagobas, and stone sculptures that once defined the island's second great medieval kingdom. A mountain bike and helmet are provided, so you can focus on the ruins rather than the logistics. Each rider receives a bottle of water to keep you going through the ride.

The route rolls out to the vast Parakrama Samudra reservoir, where your guide shares the story behind this ancient feat of engineering, then winds through the clean, green countryside surrounding the heritage site. The tour is private, runs in English, and welcomes riders aged eight and above. Note that entrance fees, hotel transfers, and meals are not included.
