About this experience
Depart from your hotel in Kalutara, Wadduwa, or Panadura in an air-conditioned vehicle and head north into Colombo for a full seven-hour private city tour. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide leads you past colonial-era buildings and gleaming modern towers, then into the quieter grounds of ancient temples — including Gangarama — where the city's pace drops away. Landmarks along the route bring Colombo's layered history to life, and a litre of bottled mineral water per person keeps you going between stops.
Entrance fees to sites such as the National Museum and Gangarama Temple are paid on the day, so carry some local currency. Food, drinks beyond the included water, gratuities, and personal expenses are also at your own cost. Children aged seven and above are welcome.
