About this experience
Board your private, air-conditioned vehicle in Hikkaduwa and head south along Sri Lanka's coastline on this full-day tour. Your English-speaking driver takes you to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where endangered sea turtles are protected and raised, then out onto the waters of Madu River to weave through dense mangrove channels. Stop at Metiyagoda to see the Moonstone Mines before stretching out on the white sands of Unawatuna Beach. A complimentary water bottle keeps you refreshed throughout.
The day ends in Galle, where you walk the old city's cobblestone streets and take in the Dutch colonial ramparts of the UNESCO-listed fort. After exploring, your driver brings you back to your Hikkaduwa hotel. The tour runs for 10 hours, is private, and is suitable for travellers aged 5 and above. Entrance fees to Madu River and the Turtle Hatchery, meals, and gratuities are not included.
