About this experience
Leave Colombo and head south along Sri Lanka's coastline, riding in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide. Your first stop is the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where entrance tickets are included, before the route continues to Madu Ganga for a river safari by boat — glide through the mangrove waterways and watch for birds and monitor lizards along the banks. Further along the coast, you can explore Hikkaduwa's coral reefs by snorkelling or diving at your own expense.
The day ends in Galle, where you step inside the Dutch-built Galle Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and walk its ramparts and cobbled lanes at your own pace. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included, as is a one-litre water bottle per person. The full tour runs for 10 hours and is private throughout, making it well-suited for families (minimum age 5), couples, and small groups. Food, drinks, and optional water-sport fees are not included.
