About this experience
Set off from your hotel in Beruwala in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide for a nine-hour coastal journey south. Your first stop is the Madu River, where a boat safari threads through mangrove corridors alive with birds and monitor lizards. From there, the route continues to Metiyagoda to see the moonstone mines before reaching Unawatuna, where white sand and calm turquoise water offer a genuine beach break. A water bottle is provided for each guest, and hotel pickup and drop-off are included throughout.
The day ends inside the Galle Fort, a UNESCO-listed Dutch colonial citadel where you walk cobblestone streets past centuries-old ramparts, churches, and merchant houses. This is a private tour — no shared coaches, no fixed group schedules — so the pace suits your party. Entrance tickets, meals, and personal expenses are not included, so carry local currency for any sites you choose to enter.
