About this experience
Your Lakpura chauffeur guide picks you up from your Dehiwala–Mount Lavinia hotel and drives you south in an air-conditioned vehicle. First stop is Lunuganga, the garden estate that lawyer-turned-architect Geoffrey Bawa shaped over five decades — wander the terraced lawns and study the interplay of water, landscape, and architecture. From there the tour continues to Meetiyagoda before you board a boat for a one-hour safari along the Madu River, drifting past mangrove islands and local fishing communities. A water bottle is provided per person throughout the day.
The tour runs for 10 hours and is operated as a private group, so the vehicle, guide, and itinerary are yours alone. Hotel pickup and drop-off, all transport, and the Madu River boat safari are included. Lunuganga Estate entrance tickets, meals, and gratuities are not included and are payable separately. Minimum age for this tour is 5 years.
