About this experience
Board your air-conditioned vehicle in Kalutara and spend eight hours exploring three distinct highlights along Sri Lanka's south-west coast. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide leads you first to Lunuganga, the garden estate where renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa shaped tropical landscapes into living art. Next, step into the Meetiyagoda Moonstones Mines to watch gem cutters extract the milky blue stones Sri Lanka is famous for. The day closes at Balapitiya, where you board a boat for a safari through the Madu River — a mangrove labyrinth home to monitor lizards, water birds, and small island temples.
This is a private tour, so the pace is yours. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Kalutara, a boat safari on the Madu River, and a water bottle per person are all included. Entrance fees not listed in the inclusions, meals, and gratuities are at your own cost. Minimum age is seven years.
