Beeralu lace has been passed down through generations of Sri Lankan women, and Miss Kanthi has carried the craft through her own. Over three unhurried hours she shows you how simple wooden bobbins and cotton thread become fine patterns.
What you do
- Watch and learn: see the bobbins at work in the hands of someone who has done this for a lifetime.
- Try it: find the rhythm of the craft with your own hands.
- Take it home: leave with your own piece of Beeralu.
