Beam Heen Bovitiya Tea Bags make a clear amber herbal drink from heen bovitiya (Osbeckia octandra), a small flowering shrub of Sri Lanka. Each carton holds 20 tea bags of 1.5 g, 30 g net, and one bag steeped in boiling water makes a cup.
Heen bovitiya belongs to the Melastomataceae family and is considered endemic to Sri Lanka. It is an upright shrub whose flowers have five pinkish-purple petals around a yellow centre. The carton, labelled Heen Bovitiya Drink in English, Sinhala and Tamil, is printed in deep violet with the plant's flowers across the front.
