Basilur Specialty Classics English Breakfast is a pure Ceylon black tea made in the style of the traditional morning cup. It is full-bodied, robust and rich, blended to go well with milk and sugar, and it belongs beside a hearty full English breakfast.
The tea is part of the Specialty Classics range from Basilur, a Sri Lankan tea company. The box is deep red shading into charcoal, with the gold Basilur crest at the top, the tea name in tall serif capitals and the Specialty Classics script sweeping across the lower half. A gabled, peaked top carries the Specialty Classics monogram, and the Ceylon Tea lion logo sits near the base.
Basilur presents English Breakfast as a tradition carried forward from the Victorian era, a nod to the English meal it takes its name from, made entirely from Ceylon tea. The tasting note on the side of the box appears in English, German, French and Russian, which makes it an easy gift for someone who reads any of those languages.
Each box holds 100g of loose black tea rather than tea bags. Two options are offered: a single 100g box, or a pack of two boxes.
