Tucked among trees on Sri Lanka's southern tip, Hotel Eva Lanka occupies a secluded spot in the quaint fishing village of Tangalle, roughly 190 km from Colombo. The property is designed to place guests in close harmony with their natural surroundings — from the salt water swimming pools that shimmer beside the Indian Ocean to the open-air restaurants that let the coastal breeze drift through every meal.

The video offers a brief but evocative glimpse of what awaits travellers who make the journey south: unhurried days, lush garden scenery, and the kind of tranquillity that a working fishing village on the Indian Ocean naturally provides.

Accommodation

Eva Lanka Hotel offers 23 chalets and standard rooms, each built to sit comfortably within the landscape rather than impose upon it. All air-conditioned units come with fans, spacious bathrooms with showers, hot and cold water, international direct dialling, and a private terrace. Garden and sea views are available depending on the room type.

The standard rooms are housed together in a single building, while the chalets come in two configurations. The Double Chalet includes a king-size double bed alongside two single beds in a separate area. The Twin Chalet — the larger of the two — provides two king-size single beds and two additional single beds arranged separately.

Facilities

Two open-air restaurants serve a range of local, international, and authentic Italian cuisine, complemented by a dedicated Ayurvedic Kitchen. The open-air bar is a relaxed setting for tropical drinks and Italian coffee. Recreational facilities include two salt water swimming pools, a water slide for younger guests, a tennis court, and table tennis. Practical amenities such as laundry services, room service, safety lockers, money exchange, and credit card facilities are also on hand. A mini bus transfer service can be pre-booked from the international airport in Katunayake.

Nearby Excursions

The surrounding region rewards exploration. Udawalawe National Park, best known as an elephant habitat, lies about 78 km from Tangalle. A night excursion can be arranged to an Ocean Turtles Asylum approximately 13 km from the hotel. Bundala National Park, around 70 km east of Tangalle, draws bird-watching enthusiasts with its rich avian life. For those interested in history and faith, the Mulkirigala ancient Buddhist temple — which stands over 200 metres high — offers wall paintings and Buddha statues in a quietly serene setting.
