The story follows a young woman called Mittha, who sets out in search of a father she has never once seen. On the way she encounters two great heroes of history, and the question the book keeps in front of her is whether she will be able to uncover the mystery of her own paternal line — and, the novel suggests, of ours.
Its publisher presents it as neither an ordinary tale of legend nor the sort of traditional historical narrative Sinhala readers are accustomed to. It is instead described as a work that reads patrilineal inheritance and chronicle history again, from a different angle. That framing matters to what the book is doing: lineage and ancestry are treated as something to be questioned rather than recited.
