Silver from Akbar is a loose-leaf Ceylon black tea of Orange Pekoe (OP) grade, packed in a silver-toned tin. It is sold here in two sizes, 150 g and 300 g.
OP is a long, whole leaf, and this one comes from Sri Lanka's low-grown gardens, known for bold, malty teas. The cup is deep amber, brisk and full-bodied with a smooth finish: a strong everyday tea that takes milk well.
The tin keeps out moisture, light and kitchen smells, and with its silver finish it makes a good gift as well as a kitchen staple.
