A collection of comic short stories featuring members of the Drones Club—hapless young men prone to disastrous romantic entanglements and reckless wagers on improbable events. Wodehouse showcases his gift for innocent humor through their misadventures, from betting away fortunes they barely possess to spectacular driving mishaps around London's landmarks. These tales introduce Uncle Fred, who would become one of Wodehouse's most beloved characters.
