Board a Robinson R66 helicopter at Colombo International Airport in Ratmalana, just 15 km from the city centre, and head south along Sri Lanka's coast. The four-seat aircraft, powered by a Rolls-Royce RR300 turboshaft engine and certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, carries you over the white sandy beaches of Moratuwa and Panadura with the Indian Ocean stretching out below.
The route then sweeps inland toward Horana and Bandaragama, where the coastline gives way to green hills, paddy fields, winding rivers, and estates of tea and rubber, before circling back to Ratmalana. The flight is private and lasts one hour, with an English-speaking chauffeur guide included. Minimum passenger age is 10 years; meals and entrance fees are not included.
