Paradise Holiday Village is at Palangathurai in Kochchikade, on the western coastal belt of Sri Lanka in the popular beach resort town of Negombo. Negombo Beach is about 0.3 km away, Kattuwa Station about 1.0 km, and Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake is 9 km as the crow flies. Colombo is approximately 35 km to the south, and cab services and car rentals are available locally.
The hotel is a short drive from Bandaranaike International Airport: about 8.8 km by road, usually 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. Book the Colombo (CMB) Airport transfer to Paradise Holiday Village.
There are 49 units in total, in several categories: deluxe rooms, standard rooms, double room apartments, single room apartments and suites. The suites have ensuite living and dining areas, and all rooms have safety lockers, hot and cold water, a mini fridge and same-day laundry service. The apartments are designed for a more homely stay and suit longer visits, each with a kitchenette, a living area, an attached bathroom and a private balcony.
The restaurant serves Eastern, Western and local dishes à la carte and is known for its seafood, and the bar pours a range of international spirits, with the roadside restaurant a popular place to relax. There is also a swimming pool and Wi-Fi.
Negombo has old churches, temples, landmarks built by the Dutch and its fish market and fishing harbour. You can take boat rides along the lagoon or into the Muthurajawela Marshland, and see toddy tapping and coconut plantations nearby. Along the coast there is sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, diving and waterskiing, and Kalpitiya, known for dolphin and whale watching excursions, can be reached from Negombo.
Good rooms with all you need. Terrific pool area. Good but basic breakfast. My tour started from this location and I booked an extra night before the tour commenced.
