About this experience
Climb into a tuk-tuk and spend four hours exploring the hill-country town of Ella and its surroundings. Your private, English-speaking guide picks you up directly from your Ella hotel and steers you through the winding roads to Rakkitha Kanda and on to Buduruwagala — an ancient Mahayana Buddhist temple complex carved into rock, dating back over a thousand years. Refreshments are provided along the way to keep you going between stops.
This is a private tour, so the tuk-tuk is yours alone, with no shared groups or fixed departure crowds. Children aged seven and above are welcome. Entrance fees, meals, and gratuities are not included, so carry some local cash for the temple sites. Lakpura handles round-trip transfers and all government taxes, leaving you free to soak up the scenery.
