A colouring book for children, drawn from Sybil Wettasinghe's story Awurudu Kema. The text and illustrations of that book form the basis of this one: the child reads the story, then colours the pictures that go with it.
It belongs to a series in which Wettasinghe's story books have been reworked into colouring books, so that reading and drawing sit together in the same volume rather than being separate activities.
The book is in Sinhala throughout. There is no English text, and a reader who does not read Sinhala will not be able to follow the story — though the line drawings themselves are, of course, open to anyone with a box of pencils.
Sybil Wettasinghe wrote and illustrated children's books in Sri Lanka, and her drawings are familiar to generations of Sinhala-reading children. This edition is published by M. D. Gunasena & Co. of Colombo.
