A Sinhala-language book about the worlds said to lie beyond ordinary sight, and about whether anything can be known of them with any precision.
Athula Manchanayake begins from an observation rather than a doctrine: a great many people speak about being born into a world after death, yet few hold a clear or settled idea of what that world is. Religious teaching offers frameworks — the various planes of existence described in Buddhism, the heaven described in Christianity — but for most people these remain indistinct. The book takes that uncertainty as its starting point and sets out a quantity of material on what can be understood of such unseen worlds through the study of the supra-mental, the field usually rendered in English as parapsychology.
The text is entirely in Sinhala, with no English translation, so it will suit readers who are comfortable reading Sinhala prose. Buyers outside Sri Lanka should be clear on that before ordering.
It is published by M. D. Gunasena & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, a long-established Colombo house publishing in Sinhala and English. The subject sits where religious cosmology and psychical enquiry meet, and the book is aimed at general readers curious about that overlap rather than at specialists in either.
