About this experience
This exclusive safari carries you from your Sigiriya hotel into Minneriya National Park, famed for its elephants and wildlife. Three options let you watch the animals during their morning activities, evening activities or throughout the day. The park blends wetlands, agricultural land, rocky outcrops, forests and scrublands, so the wildlife and birdlife are wonderfully varied.
In August, September or October you may catch the famous 'Elephant Gathering', when over 150 elephants come together from all around. The evening safari is the best time to visit, as you watch the herds take their daily bath and birds heading off to their nests. Keep watch too for crocodiles, deer and the rare grey slender loris near the reservoir, all over a three-hour ride with your driver-tracker.

A really good afternoon trip. We saw plenty of elephants and you could get soo close to them. Our driver was really good and flung some great spots. However, it did get congested at times with los of other jeeps doing t…

Horrible, trafic jams, exhaust fumes, vehicles not adapted, elephants harassed
Horrible! We were in jeeps so couldn’t see if we were sat - behind driver. If we stood the road was so rough we were thrown around and ended up black and blue. Too old for that in our 70’s!
Far too many jeeps allowed in.…
