About this experience
Ambalangoda is the heartland of Sri Lankan mask-making, and this private four-hour session puts you right at the centre of that tradition. Your host guides you through the carving process step by step, helping you shape and paint your own mask using techniques passed down through generations. A one-litre bottle of water is provided, so you can focus on the craft throughout the session. Open to participants aged five and above, this is a hands-on introduction to one of Sri Lanka's most distinctive art forms.
Note that entrance tickets, food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Organised exclusively for your group, the tour runs in English and gives you the personal attention needed to genuinely engage with the carving process — not just watch it.
