About this experience

Head out after dark from Polonnaruwa on this private, three-hour loris-watching hike led by an expert naturalist guide. Slender lorises are nocturnal and arboreal, moving with a slow, deliberate climb through the branches of Sri Lanka's tropical woodland forests — which makes a guided night walk the most reliable way to spot them. Your naturalist points out their eye-shine in the torchlight, explains their insectivorous habits, and shares insight into the fruit, gum, and leaf diet that varies between species. Entrance tickets are included, and the experience is also highly recommended for small mammal watching more broadly.

This is a private activity, so the pace is set by your group. Children aged five and above are welcome. Note that hotel pickup and drop-off, gratuities, and personal expenses are not included — arrange your own transport to the meeting point in Polonnaruwa. Lakpura organises the guide, entrance, and commentary, leaving you free to focus on the forest.
