Om denne oplevelse
Step into your private, air-conditioned vehicle and head inland from Wadduwa to Ratnapura — Sri Lanka's gem capital — on this seven-hour excursion. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide introduces you to a city built on centuries of mining tradition, before you reach the Gem Museum, where sapphires, rubies, and amethysts are displayed alongside the cutting tools and methods that transform rough stones into polished jewels.
At the museum you see the full story of the trade: how miners sink pits into the earth, how raw crystals are graded, and how craftsmen shape each stone. The tour runs as a private trip for your group, with hotel pickup and drop-off included and a water bottle provided per person. Entrance tickets, meals, and gratuities are not included in the price.
