About this experience
Your Lakpura driver collects you from your Weligama hotel and heads east along the southern coast to Bundala National Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of Sri Lanka's premier wetland habitats. The private, air-conditioned vehicle keeps the journey comfortable before your dedicated jeep safari begins inside the park. Over seven hours you scan the lagoons and scrubland for elephants, crocodiles, and a remarkable roll-call of birds — including the Greater Flamingo, which winters here in significant numbers alongside painted storks and pelicans.
The safari is private, so the pace is yours. Your English-speaking driver guides the full day, from hotel pick-up to drop-off. Hotel transfers, park jeep, and all taxes are covered; bring your own snacks and drinks, and budget separately for gratuities. Minimum age for this tour is five years.
