Earth Essence is the herbal personal care range of Link Natural Products, the Sri Lankan Ayurveda company founded in 1982. Each product pairs herbs used in Ayurveda, such as venivel, gotukola, neem, turmeric and sandalwood, with plant oils and butters such as sesame oil, sweet almond oil, tea tree oil and shea butter. The range covers face, body, hair, and hands and feet, and is made in Sri Lanka.
Face. The Herbal Face Wash combines venivel, gotukola and turmeric with neroli, lavender and tea tree oils and natural vitamin E. The Face Scrub with venivel and sandalwood is a gentle exfoliating scrub for a home facial, and the Facial Massage Cream uses neem, hathavariya, turmeric, tea tree oil and natural vitamin E. The daily face creams come in two versions: Normal Skin and Oily Skin, the second a blend of tea tree, lime, lemon, tangerine and lavender oils with sweet almond oil. There are also face masks and a moisturising lip balm.
Body. Two scents run through the body care. Divine is floral: Body Wash Divine with gotukola, venivel, turmeric, sandalwood and lodhra, and the matching Moisturising Body Lotion Divine. Exotic comes as Body Wash Exotic and Moisturiser Body Lotion Exotic. With them sit a Body Scrub and an after-sun Sunburn Lotion with welmi, iramusu, wel-madata and haldummala in sesame oil.
Hair. The Herbal Shampoo is made with extracts of neem, gotukola, godapara, kikirindiya, veralu and fenugreek; there is also an Aloe Shampoo and a Hair Conditioner.
Hands, feet and massage. The Foot Massage Cream blends shea butter with welmi, iramusu, wel-madata and haldummala, sesame oil, tea tree oil and peppermint oil. It sits alongside a Foot Scrub and a Hand and Nail Cream. For massage there are five body massage oils, Relaxing, Harmony, Energizing, Toning and Exhilarating, and the Happiness blend of pure essential oils.
