Held annually in August on dates set by the Diyawadana Nilame of the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic), this grand procession fills the streets of Kandy with elaborately adorned elephants, traditional Kandyan dancers, drummers, and fire performers. The event runs for approximately four hours. Hotel pickup, drop-off, and a tour guide are not included, giving you the freedom to arrive and depart on your own schedule.
