Lunugamvehera National Park Entrance Tickets

From$69

Notice: We no longer sell tickets alone. Tickets are now bundled with a guided service, available for purchase at the following link: Lunugamvehera National Park Private Safari

Offering a protective refuge for elephants migrating from Yala to the Udawalawe National Park, the Lunugamvehera Sanctuary is spread across a land area of about 24000 hectares. The landscape of the area is mixed with dry evergreen forests and the immediate catchment area of the Lunugamvehera Reservoir. Due to the dry zone environment, the park is a mix of vast undulated plains as well.

A protected area which was declared in the 1990’s, Lunugamvehera acts as an important habitat for Sri Lankan elephants and water birds. In addition there are other species of mammals including wild boar, spotted and axis deer, sloth bear, grey mongoose etc while over 200 species of endemic and migratory birds are seen nesting and breeding including the Crested Hawk Eagle and serpent eagle.

Lakpura offers you the comfort of booking your ticket online and our reference enables you to obtain a physical ticket through our representatives. The ticket which acts as a pass to enter the park should be in your possession at the time of entry and therefore it is advised that you book the tickets prior to your arrival. The add-ons such as a safari jeep or the services of a guide should be purchased separately

Discounts: Citizens of SAARC member countries are eligible for discounted entrance tickets. Please present your passport at the time of purchase to avail of the discount.
