About this experience
Held in Galle, this private two-hour workshop puts a carving tool in your hand and a Sri Lankan master craftsperson by your side. Masks have featured in local ritual and theatre for centuries, and your host guides you step by step through the carving process — explaining the symbolism behind each design as you shape your own piece to take home. A one-litre water bottle is provided, and the session is open to participants aged five and above.
Entrance tickets, food, drinks, and gratuities are not included, so plan accordingly. Because the session is private, the pace suits your group, whether you are travelling as a family, a couple, or solo. Lakpura organises the experience directly from Galle, making it a straightforward addition to any southern Sri Lanka itinerary.
