About this experience
Paddle the Mahaweli River on this private one-hour canoeing session departing from Kandy. Before you set off, your guide runs a full safety briefing and fits you with a life jacket and helmet. Canoes and oars are provided, so all you need to bring is a towel and a spare set of clothes. Drinking water is included, and your experienced local guide leads the way throughout — participants are expected to follow their instructions on the water.
The Mahaweli is Sri Lanka's longest river, and this stretch offers a genuine freshwater paddle rather than a crowded tourist attraction. The activity is private, so the pace and experience are yours alone. Minimum age is 13. Food, gratuities, and personal expenses are not included.
