About this experience
Skip the ticket queue and head straight into the wilderness. Your Wasgamuwa National Park entrance ticket is arranged in advance by Lakpura, so you step into your private 4x4 safari jeep — shared with no more than five other passengers — and get moving without delay. An experienced driver doubles as your tracker, reading the landscape as you roll through one of Sri Lanka's least-visited national parks, known for its elephant herds, leopards, and endemic birdlife. A chilled water bottle is provided per person, and free pickup and drop-off is included for any location within 5 km of the park gate.
The safari runs for three hours, giving you enough time to cover the park's key habitats along the Mahaweli River corridor. Children aged five and above are welcome. Hotel pickup outside the 5 km radius, gratuities, food, drinks, and personal expenses are not included. If you have booked a jeep-only slot, the park entrance fee is paid separately in cash on arrival.
