Lakpura® Bhringraj Powder is the dried plant of bhringraj, the small marsh herb better known in English as false daisy and in Sinhala as keekirindiya, milled to a fine powder. It is a greyish, earthy green-beige in colour and soft enough to press into flakes in the dish.
False daisy is a low-growing member of the daisy family with slender purplish stems and small white flower heads. It favours damp ground, marsh edges, lake shores and river banks, and grows in the wetlands of Sri Lanka.
The powder is sold as a raw botanical ingredient for handmade personal-care blends, the kind that are stirred together with oils, floral waters, clays or other herbal powders to make hair packs, scalp masks and herbal soaps. It comes as the plain powder, ready to be measured into a recipe of your own, and is offered as a traditional botanical ingredient, not as a medicine.
