About this experience
Climb into a tandem sit-on-top kayak and work your way along the Kelani River, one of Sri Lanka's most dramatic stretches of white water, right from the adventure hub of Kitulgala. Your private session runs for five hours and is led by experienced guides trained in CPR and lifesaving, with a dedicated safety kayaker on the water alongside you. A basic kayaking lesson gets you confident before you set off, and all gear — boat, paddles, and fully adjustable life jacket — is provided. Minimum age is 12.
After paddling, pull up to the river's edge for a BBQ lunch included in your booking. Transport to and from your hotel is not included, so arrange your own way to the put-in point. Gratuities and any additional food or drinks beyond what is specified are also at your own cost. Book through Lakpura to secure your private slot on the river.
