Hilton Colombo is a five-star landmark on Galle Face Green, facing the Indian Ocean beside the World Trade Center in Colombo 2. Opened in 1987 and operated by Hilton, it has spent nearly four decades at the centre of the city's business and social life, pairing a prime Fort location with the polish and consistency of a global brand.
Location
The hotel stands at 2 Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, directly on the seafront promenade, with Beira Lake, the Old Parliament Building and the Dutch Hospital shopping precinct all a short stroll away. Colombo Fort railway station is about a kilometre from the door, and Bandaranaike International Airport is roughly 35 km north — usually a 45-minute to one-hour drive depending on traffic.
Rooms
The 382 rooms and 36 suites have been newly renovated and span Standard, Superior and Deluxe categories, with family and accessible options plus connecting rooms. Each comes with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television, minibar, in-room safe and work desk, and an en-suite bathroom stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. Many look out over the ocean or the city skyline, and the executive-floor rooms and suites add Executive Lounge access with breakfast and evening refreshments.
Dining
Six venues cover everything from early coffee to late-night cocktails. Graze Kitchen is the all-day restaurant, serving international and Sri Lankan favourites across live cooking stations with a daily buffet breakfast; Emperor's Wok is the signature Chinese fine-dining room for Cantonese and Szechuan dishes and handcrafted dim sum. L.A.B (Lounge and Bar) overlooks the lotus pond with high tea and cocktails, Café Kai pours coffee and pastries all day, Stella is a lively karaoke lounge and bar, and SunsetBlu, the all-day pool club, moves from poolside lunches and sunset cocktails into evening music and entertainment. Round-the-clock in-room dining and a 24-hour market complete the picture.

Things to do
Galle Face Green, with its open seafront and evening food stalls, is at the doorstep, and Colombo's landmarks are all close: Gangaramaya Temple on Beira Lake, the National Museum, the Pettah markets and the restored Dutch Hospital precinct. The hotel also makes an easy base for exploring Sri Lanka, with Kandy and Galle both reachable on day trips.
