Theatre Music of Maradana Part 1

Maradana (Colombo 10) has been one of Colombo’s cultural hubs and is home to two important historic venues associated with Nurthi and Sinhala stage drama — the Tower Hall and the Elphinstone Theatre (both located in Maradana near the railway). These theatres hosted Nurthi productions and later modern Sinhala plays, so Maradana became a centre for performers, music directors and stage companies preserving that theatrical-musical legacy.
