About this experience
Leave Hikkaduwa in a private car with your English-speaking chauffeur guide and head north into Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle. On day one, walk through the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple complex — an ancient site that served as both a kingdom and a Buddhist monastery — then climb the steps of Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the royal citadel of King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD, and its sheer stone ramparts and summit views remain among Sri Lanka's most striking ancient landmarks. A village experience in Sigiriya rounds out the afternoon.
Day two takes you into Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari, where herds of elephants are commonly spotted gathering near the reservoir. Your chauffeur guide handles all driving, parking, and highway tolls throughout the two days. Hotel accommodation, meals, and entrance fees are arranged separately and are not included in this private tour.
