About this experience

Échappez-vous à Meemure, l'un des villages ruraux les plus isolés du Sri Lanka, lors de cette expédition de camping privé de 3 jours. Votre véhicule climatisé vous récupère à votre hôtel et vous emmène au cœur de la campagne, où les huttes en bois et en argile, les vastes rizières verdoyantes et les ruisseaux cristallins créent le décor. Waidez dans les bassins rocheux naturels, essayez les massages aux poissons, explorez la cascade à proximité et participez à des randonnées guidées dans la jungle pour apercevoir la flore et la faune locales — tout avec un guide anglophone à vos côtés et deux litres d'eau en bouteille par personne chaque jour.

Les soirées appartiennent au feu de camp et au barbecue. Tous les repas du déjeuner du jour 1 au petit-déjeuner du jour 3 sont inclus, ainsi que trois nuits d'hébergement et une couverture complète des premiers secours. L'âge minimum est 12 ans. Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 — Kandy to Meemure

You will be starting your tour at 5:30 am from your Hotel in Kandy. Make sure you bring swimwear and hiking clothes with good boots. Here’s your itinerary:

Day 1

05:30 am: Pick up from Queen’s Hotel and drive towards Hunnasgiriya.

07:00 am: Hunnasgiriya Junction - Transfer to a 4x4 vehicle. The route will be rough from that point onwards.

08:00 am: Stop at a tea shop for breakfast (at your own cost).

08:40 am: Visit Corbet's Gap to enjoy some magnificent views of the nearby Knuckles Mountain range.

10:00 am: Reach Meemure Village. It has just around 400 people and subsists on agriculture. You will be taken to the camping site.

11:00 am to 03:30 pm: Water Sports. At 1:00 pm a delicious traditional village lunch will be served at the same site. After the end of the activities, you will have some time to rest.

04:30 pm: Tour of the village. You will get to learn the ins and out of village life, their culture, and history. You will also be given a chance to taste some fresh sweet jaggery and fermented toddy made out of kithul palm trees.

06:30 pm: You can choose to return to camp or ask your guide to take you to a rock pool for a dip or a fish massage.

07:30 pm: Campfire and a barbecued dinner. You may also be able to enjoy yourself with campsite stories and music.

Day 2 — Meemure

Day 2

07:00 am: Sri Lankan breakfast with hot tea

08:00 am: Full day hike to Narangamuwa Village. It will be a fairly tough hike and you will pass alongside Lakegala Mountain. You will be able to see the customs of the other village and have lunch there as well. Then you will be returning.

04:00 pm: Back to camp. If you wish, you can choose to visit the rock pool once again. Other than that, you will have a few hours of rest.

07:30 pm: A campfire dinner with barbecue and music.

Day 3 — Meemure > Kandy

Day 3

07:00 am: Sri Lankan breakfast with hot tea

08:00 am: 3km hike to Navarathna Waterfall located within the depths of the forest. You can also have a bath here.

12:00 pm: Return to the campsite and final lunch at Meemure Village

01:00 pm: You will leave Meemure Village on the 4x4 Jeep.

02:00 pm: Stop at the same tea shop for a cup of tea.

03:00 pm: Transfer to A/C van

04:30 pm: Return back to your Hotel in Kandy
