Head into the quiet suburbs of Jaffna for a private, hands-on cooking session that lasts two hours and takes you straight to the heart of Tamil Sri Lankan home cooking. Guided by a knowledgeable English-speaking guide, you cook over a clay stove using traditional fired clay pots — the same equipment locals have used for generations. Your menu centres on two iconic dishes: the rich, spiced Jaffna Mutton Curry and soft, steamed Pittu. A home-cooked lunch or dinner made entirely by you is included.
This is a private activity, so the pace is yours. Children aged five and above are welcome. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included, so arrange your own transport to the venue. Gratuities are optional and at your discretion. Book through Lakpura to secure your place at the clay stove.
