Step out of your Nuwara Eliya hotel and into Sri Lanka's highest plateau — a sweeping landscape of wild grasslands, dense cloud-forest patches, rocky outcrops, and misty lakes. Your English-speaking guide meets you at pickup, and the entrance ticket to Horton Plains National Park is already sorted. Over five hours you trek the park's signature trail, pausing at filigree waterfalls and scanning the mist for sambar deer and endemic birds. Horton Plains is a beautiful national park with cool weather, scenic hiking trails, and breathtaking landscapes. World's End is an unforgettable viewpoint and well worth the walk.

Not entirely worth it
The views in the park are nice, but "World's end" was extremely underwhelming. I'm not sure it justifies the long ride and high park entry cost
