Citronella oil from Bowatte is an essential oil made from the leaves of citronella grass, Cymbopogon nardus. It has a sharp, fresh, lemony grass scent, the one familiar from garden candles and outdoor torches.
How it is used
- A few drops in an oil burner or diffuser to scent a room or veranda.
- Added to home-made candles, room sprays and outdoor blends.
- Diluted in a carrier oil before it goes on the skin; see the label for how much.

Storage
Essential oils are strong. Keep the cap closed, store away from heat and open flame, and keep out of the reach of children.
