About this experience
Board your private vehicle in Colombo and head south to Sinharaja, Sri Lanka's UNESCO-listed rainforest and one of the island's richest wildlife habitats. Over roughly 12.5 hours — including a 3-hour guided walk — your English-speaking guide leads you along forest trails, pointing out endemic birds such as the Sri Lanka blue magpie, green-billed coucal, and red-faced malkoha. Raise your binoculars, listen for calls overhead, and learn to distinguish the dense canopy's residents from its visitors. Entrance tickets and transport in a 4WD safari jeep are included from the start.
The tour is entirely private, so the pace suits you. Your guide shares real-time insight into Sinharaja's ecosystem — its layered vegetation, rare amphibians, and endemic flora — as you cover the trail. Gratuities and meals are not included, so bring snacks and water for the day. Minimum age is 5. Lakpura handles all logistics, leaving you free to focus on the forest.
