A children's story in Sinhala, written by Manohari Jayasooriya and published in Colombo by M. D. Gunasena & Co. The text is Sinhala throughout, so buyers outside Sri Lanka should be confident of reading Sinhala, or be buying for a child who is.

The story follows Steve, a young boy who comes to lean too heavily on artificial intelligence. Through what happens to him, he works out that real success comes from using his own mind and his own creativity. The book's argument is put simply: technology can be a good friend and a guide, but it is not a substitute for human thinking.

Jayasooriya writes it for children, though the publisher points out that the message is addressed to parents as well — the adults reading alongside a child are part of the intended audience. It sits in a small but growing group of Sinhala children's books dealing with how young readers should relate to the tools now in front of them at home and at school.

Suitable for Sinhala-reading children, for families raising children bilingually abroad who want age-appropriate material in the language, and for school and community libraries building a Sinhala section on contemporary themes.
