Walk the sandy shores of the south-western coastal belt and watch the sun drop into the Indian Ocean before heading inland to Horton Plains for a highland trek and Minneriya for a jeep safari where wild elephants congregate around the reservoir.

You also visit Pinnawala to observe elephants cared for at the sanctuary, then round off the itinerary in Colombo — Sri Lanka's busy capital — where colonial architecture, local markets, and street food sit side by side.
