Lace
The south western and southern coastal belt of Sri Lanka, specially the Galle region has long been renowned for Lace weaving, a craft introduced by the wives of Portuguese in Sri Lanka in the 16th century. There are three main types of hand made lace in Sri Lanka - Pillow lace, Needle point lace and Crochet lace, the essential differences being the method of making.
