This is a set of practice question papers for fourth-grade pupils, issued as part of the Gunasena Shishyathwa Thakshalawa series. The whole text is in Sinhala — questions, instructions and all — so it suits a household where the child is studying in the Sinhala medium.
The series is built as a sequence of graded paper sets, each intended to be worked through before moving to the next:
- Star Edition
- Super Edition
- Smart Edition
- Bright Edition
- Genius Edition
Bright Edition is the fourth stage in that progression. The publisher's intention is that a pupil who has completed this set goes on to the Genius Edition, which carries the same groundwork further.
The papers were compiled by Sajith Abeysekara and Kasun Ganewaththa, both teachers with experience in primary education. Both completed the National Diploma in Teaching at the Hapitigama National College of Education in Mirigama.
It is published by M. D. Gunasena & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, a long-established Sri Lankan publishing and bookselling house whose list includes a good deal of school and examination material in Sinhala.
For parents abroad preparing a child for the scholarship examination, or for Sinhala-medium teachers outside Sri Lanka wanting locally produced practice papers, this is practical working material rather than a textbook to read through.
