Question 1

How far is Seeduwa from Colombo airport?

Accepted Answer

Seeduwa is immediately adjacent to Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. By road, the distance is only a few kilometres and the drive typically takes under ten minutes in normal traffic conditions.

Question 2

Is Seeduwa a good place to stay before an early flight from Colombo?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Seeduwa is one of the most practical overnight options for travellers with early departures from Bandaranaike International Airport. Several hotels and guesthouses cater specifically to transit passengers, and the short road distance to the terminal removes the stress of a long pre-dawn drive from Colombo.

Question 3

How do I get from Seeduwa to Colombo city?

Accepted Answer

The most comfortable option is a private transfer, which Lakpura can arrange and typically takes 25 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. Buses on the Colombo–Negombo route also pass through Seeduwa regularly. A dedicated airport rail link connects the broader airport precinct to Colombo as well.

Question 4

What is there to do in Seeduwa itself?

Accepted Answer

Seeduwa is primarily a transit town and does not have major tourist attractions within its boundaries. Most visitors use it as a base for the airport. Nearby Negombo, just a short drive north, offers beaches, a fish market, colonial canals, and seafood restaurants.

Question 5

Can Lakpura arrange a private transfer from Seeduwa to other cities in Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

Lakpura provides private chauffeur transfers from Seeduwa to destinations across the island, including Colombo, Kandy, Galle, and further afield. Fares are quoted per route at the time of booking. Vehicles range from standard cars to larger people-carriers depending on group size.

Question 6

What is the weather like in Seeduwa?

Accepted Answer

Seeduwa sits on Sri Lanka's west coast and experiences a tropical climate. The dry season generally runs from November to April, with May marking the onset of the south-west monsoon. Because most visitors are in transit, the weather is rarely the deciding factor for a stay in Seeduwa.

Question 7

Is Seeduwa the same as Katunayake?

Accepted Answer

They are distinct but neighbouring towns. Katunayake is the town that officially hosts Bandaranaike International Airport and the associated export processing zone. Seeduwa is immediately to the south and is a separate administrative area, though the two are often treated as part of the same airport corridor by travellers.
