Question 4

Waga is the neighbouring station in the direction of Colombo, and Kosgama is the next stop toward Avissawella and the hill-country end of the line.

Question 6

Is the Kelani Valley train journey scenic?

Yes, particularly beyond Kadugoda as the line approaches Avissawella. The route passes lush rubber estates, the Kelani River and terraced paddy fields. It is less famous than the Kandy–Ella route but offers a more local, unhurried experience.

Question 7

Can I visit Sinharaja or Kitulgala from Kadugoda Station?

Accepted Answer

Kadugoda provides a useful rail access point toward the Kelani Valley corridor. From Avissawella, the nearest major station further along the line, local transport connects to Kitulgala for white-water rafting and to the edges of the Sinharaja rainforest. A private vehicle gives more flexibility for these onward journeys.
