The drive from the International Airport in Katunayake to Orchard House in Galle is a scenic 120km drive along the coastal belt of Sri Lanka. The drive takes approximately 3 1/2 - 4 hours while there are various transport options from Colombo Fort to Galle. Public transport such as express and local trains as well as intercity buses are available for easy access. Airport transfers can be arranged by the management with prior notice.

Orchard House Excursions
Orchard House easily arranges transport if and when you wish to explore the area and beyond Galle. The historic Galle Fort is a marvel to explore while it still contains the Supreme Court of the Southern Province, legal offices, old government buildings, mosques, temples as well as an early Dutch protestant church. Galle is a colourful and busy town mainly surrounded by this historic monument.
Travelling further South away from Galle, guests will find more coastal villages with beautiful beaches such as Unawatuna, Ahangama and Mirissa while to the North via the coastal route is the tourist hub of Hikkaduwa. For longer excursions guests can travel to the Sinharaja rainforest reserve or enjoy a safari to the Uda Walawe wild life sanctuary with herds of elephants roaming about freely.
