About this experience
Board a shared safari jeep — seating up to six passengers — and spend three hours exploring Gal Oya National Park, one of Sri Lanka's most ecologically varied wild spaces. Your experienced driver doubles as your tracker, reading the landscape as you move through savannah grasslands, dense shrublands, and patches of tropical forest. Keep your eyes open for elephants, leopards, sloth bears, spotted deer, and herds of water buffalo. Above the tree line, spot-billed pelicans, grey-headed fish eagles, oriental darters, and red-faced malkohas are regular sightings. A one-litre water bottle is provided per person, and all taxes and service charges are covered.
Free pickup and drop-off is included for any location within 5 km of the park gate. Park entrance tickets, food, and gratuities are not included and should be arranged separately. March to July is considered the prime season for wildlife encounters at Gal Oya, though the park rewards visits year-round. Lakpura handles the logistics so you can focus on the sightings.
