About this experience
Yala National Park, located in Sri Lanka's Southern Province, is one of the country's largest and most biodiverse wildlife reserves. It spans a mosaic of scrub jungle, grasslands, lagoons, and rocky outcrops that support a remarkable range of species. The park is particularly well known for its population of leopards, which are spotted here with relative frequency compared with other leopard habitats, alongside elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a rich variety of birdlife.
The three-hour safari takes place in a 4x4 jeep, travelling the park's designated tracks with a driver who also serves as your tracker. With no more than six passengers per vehicle, the experience remains suitably intimate, and the smaller group size makes it easier to stop and observe wildlife without the disruption that larger convoys can cause.
Advance arrangement of your entrance ticket through Lakpura means the paperwork is settled before you arrive, reducing delays at the gate and allowing the safari to begin promptly. Pickup and drop-off from accommodation within five kilometres of the park gate is included as part of the service. Please note that the minimum age for the safari is five years.
