About this experience
Board a private yacht and set sail from the northern coast towards Delft Island, one of Sri Lanka's most remote and rarely visited destinations. The 8-hour tour takes you ashore to explore the island's distinctive coral walls — built centuries ago without mortar — and the weathered colonial-era lighthouse that still stands at the island's edge. Keep your eyes on the open scrubland for the island's famous miniature wild horses, a free-roaming herd descended from Portuguese-era stock, and visit the ancient pigeon house, a curious relic of a forgotten era.
A local lunch is served on the cruise, and mineral water is provided throughout the day. A guided tour on shore is included, so you won't miss any of the island's landmark sites. Children aged 5 and above are welcome. Note that hotel pickup and drop-off, gratuities, and personal expenses are not included. This is a private activity, booked exclusively for your group.
